A part of the British Transport Police’s (BTP) web site has been hacked, the power has confirmed.

BTP stated it was made conscious of “a risk to the newsroom part” of its web site – hosted by an exterior provider.

The primary web page was unaffected however clicks on the “newest information” hyperlink are directed to a Tumblr weblog run by the power.

Checks carried out by BTP, the Nationwide Cyber Safety Centre and the Nationwide Crime Company discovered “a small quantity” of workers particulars have been leaked.

A power spokesman stated: “This technique has no affiliation with the Drive’s crime administration or command and management programs and has not compromised the Drive’s operational capabilities.

“All of the related authorities have been notified of this incident.”

An investigation is being carried out by the BTP, Nationwide Crime Company and the Nationwide Cyber Safety Centre.
