Lil Nas X mentioned he did not “have something to cover”

US rapper Lil Nas X has revealed he has skilled a backlash on social media since posting cryptic hints on Twitter that he’s homosexual.

“I am not offended… as a result of I perceive how they need that response,” mentioned the 20-year-old performer. “So I am simply going to joke again with them.”

Lil Nas X – actual title Montero Lamar Hill – instructed BBC Breakfast he felt like he was “opening doorways for extra folks”.

“I do not need to stay my complete life… not doing what I need to do,” he added.

He mentioned he hoped his followers would “really feel snug” however admitted homosexuality was “not likely accepted in both the nation [or] hip-hop communities”.

Lil Nas X has loved big success together with his county-rap crossover hit Previous City Highway, which topped the UK singles chart in April.

The track turned a viral hit however was controversially removed from Billboard’s nation chart as a result of it did “not embrace sufficient components of at the moment’s nation music”.

The rapper took to the stage at Glastonbury on the weekend to carry out Previous City Highway with Miley Cyrus and her father Billy Ray.

Following his look, the Atlanta-born rapper posted a tweet by which he referred to as on his followers to “hear intently” to the lyrics of his track C7osure (You Like).

The track, taken from his debut EP 7, talks about needing to be “free” and consists of the lyrics: “That is what I gotta do, cannot be regretting once I’m outdated.”

Talking on BBC Breakfast on Friday, Lil Nas X mentioned he did not “have something to cover” and had “sort of revealed, you realize, that I’m homosexual”.

“How huge of a deal is that?” he continued rhetorically. “Is it one thing that I used to be contemplating by no means doing ever, like taking to the grave or one thing?

“However I used to be like, I don’ t need to stay my complete life – particularly how I acquired to the place I am at, not doing what I need to do.”

Following his interview with the BBC’s Charlie Stayt and Naga Munchetty, he tweeted he “didn’t know” he had walked in entrance of a stay digicam whereas making his exit.
